I question “Why?” in everything I do and in who I think I am. When I get a satisfying answer, I ask “Why?” again. And again and again. Maybe digging into yourself like this isn’t what works for everyone, but this is what’s worked for me to discover the roots of my actions and beliefs. In this way, I acknowledge the narrative of my life which I build my actions and thoughts around. Continuously exploring these often-vulnerable thoughts and ideas shows me who I am and who I want to become.

I have come to understand that I am always in a state of change. The choices that I made 18 months ago aren’t the ones I would have made today, or even two months ago. Recently, I looked back on the last two or three years of my life. I realized that I had been flowing with the motions, doing things I was supposed to be doing. I really needed to give myself the grace to ask what it is that I really would like to be doing or thinking. The only way out (of this question) is in, as they say. I hope that intentional inner exploration, asking myself valuable questions that demand vulnerable and worthy answers, will guide me in my current state of change to more clarity.

How would you like to inspire others?
Everybody has different values and aspirations, hidden or spoken into existence to manifest themselves. Asking yourself, “why?” from the smallest of things (Why did I choose that horror flick instead of a romcom tonight?) to big questions (Why do I say sorry for everything unconsciously?) to larger-than-life things (Why do I believe that there are no coincidences?) can be very important. Exploring “why” to any extent gives you space to consciously create clarity on the roots of your decisions, your values and aspirations. That’s how to discover a more centered, inner you.
